Will Mt Fuji Erupt?

Steam was discovered escaping from the east-northeast side of Mt Fuji Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan last month. It is the time steam has been seen on the mountain 1945. Locals are worried it may erupt.

Many tourists flock Mt Fuji in October and November. Businesses are worried tourists may not come if fear spreads.

However, the bureau has assured people it is not going erupt. It said that the steam is not connected volcanic activity.

Mt Fuji last erupted in 1707, 300 years .
