INTERMEDIATE - GRAMMAR

FEW / A FEW

A FEW = some / between 3 & 7 (or a small number, it could be more than 7)
FEW = not many

The meaning is very similar.
A few is more positive.
Few is more negative.

==>A few people enjoy his singing. (=some people like it)
==>Few people enjoy his singing. (=not many people like it)

When we use only with a few, the meaning becomes 'not many.'
==>I've only got a few dollars in my pocket. (not many dollars / not much money)
==>She's only got a few minutes before her bus leaves. (not many minutes/ not much time)
