ELEMENTARY - GRAMMAR


COUNTABLE AND NON COUNTABLE NOUNS

Countable
Most nouns are countable. When we have more than one we add 's' or 'es.'
Example:
one dog - two dogs
one apple - five apples
one tomato - three tomatoes

Non Countable
However, many nouns are uncountable.
Example: furniture, clothing, work

We cannot say,
I bought one furniture.
I bought three furnitures.
We can say,
I bought ...
...some furniture.
...old furniture.
...a piece of furniture.
...his furniture.
...a lot of furniture.
