BRAZIL

Do you come from Brazil? Do you agree with the information below?

Brazilians are very friendly. They speak Portuguese.

People stand quite close to each other when they speak. It is rude to break eye contact. They talk very quickly. There is often a lot of physical contact. People often touch each other on the shoulders and arms when they speak.

If you visit Brazil you should try to learn a few words of Portuguese. Don't worry about making mistakes. Brazilians will appreciate it if you try.

They may ask you questions about your personal life, your income, religion or marital status. If you don't feel comfortable talking about these things, you don't have to give a direct answer.

People usually use first names, but you should wait until you are invited to use the first name. Good topics to talk about are travel, food, dance, art, soccer and other sports.
