Voting Begins in South Korea

You will hear a story about voting in South Korea. Listen and put in the missing words.

Koreans are voting for a new president today. Usually around 80% of or 28 million people vote.

There are two main candidates. The new president could be Roh Moo Hyun, a 56 from the Millenium Democratic Party or Lee Hoi Chang, a 67 year old from the Grand National Party. Opinion polls Roh is most likely to win. Voting at 6am. The result will probably by 9pm.

The result is very important because the economic and international security environment very quickly. One of the first jobs for the new president will be to make decisions about South Korea’s relationship with North Korea.
